Mexican 'serial killer and cannibal', Andrés Mendoza, 72, arrested for 'murdering and dismembering 9 women including his girlfriend' (photos)

  Authorities in Mexico have arrested a suspected 'serial killer cannibal' after they discovered the remains of his 34-year-old missing girlfriend and at least eight other women at his home.   The Attorney General’s Office for the State of Mexico disclosed that the eight other women may have been murdered by Andrés Mendoza, 72, during a 20-year stretch. Imagen Television reported that Mendoza who videotaped the killings of his victims confessed to have eaten their body parts.   Police in the town of Atizapan were conducting a search for Reyna González, a mother of two girls, when they found her dismembered body inside Mendoza’s on Saturday, May 15.  The mother of two was reported missing last Friday after she went to Mendoza’s home at noon to tell him that she was going to end their relationship.    Mendoza did not agree with González’s ending their relationship and reportedly stabbed her inside his home. Suspected kidnapper and escapee prison inmate arrested in Imo (photo)

 





Operatives of the Quick Intervention Team QIT of the Imo state police command, today May 17, arrested Eze Obinna, pictured above, a native of Amaimo, Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo state, over his involvement in series of recent kidnap incidents in the state. 


 


A statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, Orlando Ikeokwu, said the operatives while acting on the directives of the Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, to rid the state of crime and criminality, as well as rearrest the escapee inmates of the Correctional services, stormed Obinze, Owerri West LGA, Imo State, and arrested the said Eze Obinna who has since his escape from Prison, allegedly formed another deadly kidnap gang and has been terrorizing Owerri and environs. 


 


Ikeowku said the sometme in December 2020, the suspect was arrested by the operatives of the Anti Kidnapping unit, for kidnapping a victim, where he personally transferred the sum of five Million Naira (N5,000,000) from the victim's Bank account to his own account,  and later collected the sum of Four Million Naira (N4,000,000) cash, as ransom from the same victim, while the victims Toyota Venza car is yet to be recovered.


 


According to Ikeokwu, three AK 47 rifles with a large number of ammunition were also recovered from them. They were charged to court and remanded in prison custody. However, they were set free during the attack on the Correctional services on April 5.


 


The police spokesperson said the Commissioner of Police has ordered the arrest of all his gang members, as well as moping up their operational arms. He said effort  is ongoing in that regard while an investigation is ongoing.
