Mexican 'serial killer and cannibal', Andrés Mendoza, 72, arrested for 'murdering and dismembering 9 women including his girlfriend' (photos)

  Authorities in Mexico have arrested a suspected 'serial killer cannibal' after they discovered the remains of his 34-year-old missing girlfriend and at least eight other women at his home.   The Attorney General’s Office for the State of Mexico disclosed that the eight other women may have been murdered by Andrés Mendoza, 72, during a 20-year stretch. Imagen Television reported that Mendoza who videotaped the killings of his victims confessed to have eaten their body parts.   Police in the town of Atizapan were conducting a search for Reyna González, a mother of two girls, when they found her dismembered body inside Mendoza’s on Saturday, May 15.  The mother of two was reported missing last Friday after she went to Mendoza’s home at noon to tell him that she was going to end their relationship.    Mendoza did not agree with González’s ending their relationship and reportedly stabbed her inside his home. Update: Photos from the funeral of gallant police officer who died after being shot by bandits during gun duel in Kebbi

 



Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP AbdulQadir Garba Hardo, who died after he was shot by bandits in Kebbi State has been laid to rest in Gusau, Zamfara.


 


LIB reported that the gallant officer died after being shot in the leg while leading the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Tactical Squad in a gun duel with armed bandits at Tsamiya town in Bagudo Local Government of the state. three months ago. 



He passed away in the early hours of Monday, May 10, at a Hospital, in Gusau, while preparing to proceed to referral treatment at the Orthopaedic Hospital, Dala, Kano State.


 


The funeral prayer for the deceased was conducted at the family house and his burial followed immediately at Unguwar Gwaza cemetery, Gusau on Monday.



Secretary to the Kebbi State State Government, Alhaji Babale Umar, headed a delegation to the funeral, comprising of the Acting Head of Service, Alhaji Safayanu Garba Bena, the Special Adviser on Security, retired Major Garba Rabiu Kamba, the Permanent Secretary/Chief Medical Director, Sir Yahaya Memorial Hospital, Birnin Kebbi, Dr Aminu Haliru Bunza, and the Chairman of Bagudo Local Government, Alhaji Kaura Dan Hakimi, the area where the incident occurred.


 


The Secretary to the State Government, who spoke on behalf of Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu presented 2 million naira cash to the family of the late DSP provided by Senator Atiku Bagudu.


 


The SSG informed the family that the Governor has also pledged to continue to assist the family.
